Ithaca Skb 600 Serial Numbers 7,7/10 689 votes

We do not have any records from other importers of SKB manufactured shotguns: Ithaca Gun Company which imported from 1969 to 1978; Mitsui (Chicago, IL) which imported from 1981 to 1984; Weatherby which imported from 1984 to 2004; The SKB factory in Japan closed operations in late 2009. Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “Model 600 12 GA -2 ¾ Chamber-Proof Tested / Ithaca Gun Co.,Inc., Ithaca N.Y. Made in Japan –Rot Forged “, on the left and “Custom Crafted for Ithaca by SKB”, on the right. The bottom of the barrel set is marked “6209”, “5637406”,, “SKB”, and “NP”. I found out the year on the one im selling by emailing ithica gun co myself they told me the year and a little about the gun's history. All you have to do is send them the sn. Here is the website Home of The Ithaca Gun Company.

I have searched the web for serial number/mfg. date for an Ithaca/SKB 600 s/n S56138xx to no avail.
SKB didn't retain the numbers for the imported units that went to Ithaca.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Walt, I was afraid that was the case.
Let me try another approach; does anyone know what years the Ithaca/SKB600 Magnum guns (3' chambers, gold medallion in stock) were manufactured? I read on a Gunsamerica ad that the mags were only manufactured between '69 and '72. Can anyone confirm those dates?
Thanks!
